[genivi-dlt] Message buffer overflow message

Hello Malcom,

The message is always send, if any log message is lost.

Loss can happen in different places:

- The buffer in the DLT library is full

- No TCP connection and DLT daemon library buffer is getting full

The message should also contain the number of lost messages. Perhaps this is not nicely decoded in the DLT viewer.

I think in your case if you set log levels to verbose this is normal.

Best regards

   Alex

Betreff: [genivi-dlt] Message buffer overflow message

Hi,

We have connected the DLT viewer (2.14.1 version) to our system and have set the log level for all software components reporting DLT log events to the Daemon to VERBOSE (not recommended I know) We have been seeing the following messages appearing in DLT logs on the viewer:

Appid <appid of reporting component> context id DC1 Type Response Payload [message_buffer_overflow ok] 00 01 00 00

This appears to be the reporting software component responding to a control message from the viewer, but we are not sure what the control message is supposed to do and why the viewer would be sending it to the reporting software component and not the Daemon.

When is message_buffer_overflow sent by the viewer?

Regards,

Malcolm
